“Underserved Community and Tribal Stewardship in Action: Restoring Tallgrass Prairie Ecosystems in Oklahoma's Neosho River Watershed”
Funded by the Oklahoma Conservation Commission in collaboration with the LEAD agency
Collaborating faculty: Dr. Scott Stoodley, Dr. Karen Hickman, Dr. Jaime Schussler
This project aims to identify areas most ideal for installation and implementation of nature-based solutions and tallgrass prairie systems in NE Oklahoma. The region of consideration is suffering from frequent flooding and hopes to find solutions to reduce the negative impacts of these flood events. Our team will use a combination of GIS, hydrological modeling, and site suitability analysis to complete this project.
